Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
Abstract Restoration of joint function and mechanics is the goal of every shoulder stabilization surgery. Achieving this goal in the setting of altered anatomy and bone loss is easier said than done. In restoring a joint, it is important to understand what native tissue can be repaired, what can be augmented, or what needs to be reconstructed. For this, we rely on biomechanical research, patient outcomes, and long‐term follow‐up of patients. Bone augmentation procedures have provided a crucial role in shoulder instability treatment, but perhaps it is time to consider soft‐tissue augmentation to the glenoid as another option in our armamentarium.
