Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
<h4>Aim</h4>Healthcare-associated infections are a major concern worldwide because they prolong hospital stays, increase costs for healthcare systems and negatively impact patients' health. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the Turkish Validity and Reliability of the InovSafeCare Scale for the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections among undergraduate nursing students who provide patient care services.<h4>Design</h4>A methodological study design was used in this study.<h4>Methods</h4>Study was conducted with the participation of 1149 nursing students from the Muğla and Fethiye University Nursing Departments between March and May 2025. Data were collected via a face-to-face survey. Data were analysed using Lawshe content validity ratio, Kaiser-Mayer-Olkin coefficient, Bartlett test, exploratory factor analysis, principal component analysis, Varimax factor rotation method, confirmatory factor analysis, Cronbach's α internal consistency coefficient, convergent validity, discriminant validity, test-retest and Spearman correlation coefficient tests.<h4>Results</h4>InovSafeCare Scale was determined to have a 13-factor structure. Composite reliability values were above 0.80 for all factors. The average explained variance values, an indicator of convergent validity, were at an acceptable level (≥ 0.50) for most factors. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin coefficient of the scale was 0.944, indicating excellent suitability for factor analysis of the sample size. Bartlett's test of sphericity (χ 2 = 5.60 × 10 4 , df = 3321, p < 0.001) was suitable for factor analysis of the correlation matrix. Thirteen factors explained 62.4% of the variance. Cronbach's α values of all factors ranged from 0.798 to 0.942, and the Cronbach's α coefficient of the scale was 0.942. Confirmatory factor analysis findings confirmed the 13-factor structure of the scale in a statistically significant and strong manner (p < 0.05). The 2-week test-retest reliability of the scale (n = 110) was also satisfactory (ICC = 0.878).<h4>Conclusion</h4>The InovSafeCare Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to prevent and control healthcare-associated infections among undergraduate nursing students who provide patient care.<h4>Patient or public contribution</h4>No patient or public contribution.
