Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

Adolescent sexual abuse remains a pervasive and deeply damaging issue globally, with significant psychological ramifications for its victims. In Nigeria, particularly within states like Imo, the prevalence of such abuse necessitates effective therapeutic interventions. This article explores the potential influence of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) as a therapeutic approach in addressing the psychological trauma experienced by adolescents who have endured sexual abuse in Imo State, Nigeria. Drawing upon existing research, including studies conducted within the Nigerian context, this paper posits that REBT’s focus on identifying and disputing irrational beliefs can significantly aid in the recovery process, fostering resilience and promoting mental well-being among affected adolescents.
