Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

Interprofessional education (IPE) is widely promoted, yet many simulations rely on scriptedscenarios rather than evidence about learner errors, real team behaviour, orprofessional expectations. Climate-sensitive presentations add an important butunderused context in climate-vulnerable settings such as Pakistan. Thisprotocol describes a two-phase mixed-methods study to develop and test aninterprofessional simulation for final-year Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, andParamedicine students. Phase 1 integrates three evidence sources: individualresponses from 100 students to five climate-sensitive clinical scenarios; structuredobservation of hospital teams; and interviews with 20 senior clinicians.Expert-derived behaviours will be refined through a two-round modified Delphiprocess (75% agreement) to create an Expert Consensus Benchmark and BenchmarkAlignment Score (BAS). Findings will inform scenario design and a six-moduleIPE workshop addressing communication, role clarity, decision-making, patientsafety, escalation, and teamwork. In Phase 2, the same students will form 25interprofessional teams and complete matched simulations before and after theworkshop and at three months. The primary outcome is change in BAS; retentionand secondary communication, safety, role-clarity, confidence, behavioural, andusability outcomes will also be assessed. Analyses will account for repeatedtesting and team clustering, with trained independent assessors anddouble-scoring of a subset. Quantitative and qualitative findings will beintegrated using joint displays.
