Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a major public health issue characterized by progressive airflow limitation and a significant impact on patients' quality of life. In this context, multidisciplinary management—with a particular emphasis on the role of nursing—has proven essential for disease control. This study aimed to analyze the efficacy of nursing interventions within the multidisciplinary management of COPD, focusing on reducing exacerbations, improving treatment adherence, and promoting quality of life. This is a qualitative study based on a literature review. Data collection was conducted via the Virtual Health Library (BVS) and SciELO platforms, adhering to pre-established inclusion criteria. The analyzed studies demonstrated that interventions such as health education, pulmonary rehabilitation, continuous monitoring, home-based follow-up, and the use of technologies (e.g., telemonitoring) contribute significantly to reducing exacerbations and hospitalizations. It was also observed that health education fosters self-care and improves therapeutic adherence, while pulmonary rehabilitation promotes gains in functional capacity as well as physical and emotional well-being. Furthermore, multicomponent interventions were found to be more effective than isolated actions, as they integrate the physical, psychological, and social aspects of care. Thus, the study concludes that nursing interventions are fundamental to COPD management; they stand out for their role in care coordination, the promotion of patient autonomy, and the improvement of clinical outcomes, making them indispensable for comprehensive and humanized care.
