Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

This study aimed to analyze the perception of different groups regarding the impacts of clown therapy on the hospital environment at the Hospital de Doenças Tropicais of the Federal University of Northern Tocantins, located in Araguaína, Tocantins, Brazil. This was a descriptive, observational, cross-sectional study with a qualitative and quantitative approach, conducted after clown therapy interventions in hospital wards and common areas of the institution. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire composed of 13 statements assessed on an ordinal scale and one open-ended question intended to capture subjective experiences. A total of 92 valid questionnaires were analyzed. The findings demonstrated a high level of agreement concerning the positive effects of the intervention, particularly regarding the promotion of a lighter hospital atmosphere, positive emotions, welcoming interactions, improved interpersonal relationships, and the recommendation of clown therapy as a complementary activity in healthcare. Participants reported that the intervention contributed to emotional well-being and to the humanization of care, benefiting patients, companions, healthcare professionals, and students. It was concluded that clown therapy represents a relevant strategy for promoting humanized healthcare, strengthening social bonds, reducing emotional distress, and fostering a more supportive hospital environment.
