Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
Background Nursing faculty play a key role in preparing competent nurses, yet their professional challenges and opportunities remain underexplored in India. This study examined these challenges and opportunities among nursing faculty in India. Methods A quantitative cross-sectional exploratory study was conducted among 322 nursing faculty members across India using convenience sampling. Data were collected electronically using a self-structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Mann–Whitney U test, Kruskal–Wallis test, and ordinal logistic regression were performed using SPSS version 23. Results Most participants were aged 31–40 years (51.6%) and held MSc Nursing qualifications (60.9%). Moderate professional challenges (66.5%) and opportunities (75.5%) were common. Age and educational qualification were significantly associated with both outcomes ( p < 0.001). Educational qualification and academic designation were significant predictors. Conclusions Nursing educators in India experienced moderate professional challenges and opportunities. Strengthening faculty development and supportive academic environments may enhance professional growth, job satisfaction, and retention.
