Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

Purpose: To explore nurses' experiences caring for older people living with HIV (OPLWH). Method: Individual semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 nurses to explore their perspectives, challenges, and insights related to providing care for OPLWH. Results: Using thematic analysis, we identified seven themes that were further organized into four overarching domains to enhance coherence and alignment: (1) Health Care System and Structural Challenges , (2) Clinical and Functional Care Needs , (3) Psychosocial Care and Experience s, and (4) Workforce Capacity and Training . These domains reflect the interconnected nature of system-level, clinical, psychosocial, and provider factors influencing the care of OPLWH. Conclusion: Findings highlight the importance of interdisciplinary care models, the integration of mental health and social needs assessments in nursing practice, professional education systems to address the intersection of aging and HIV, and advocacy by nurses to promote holistic and patient-centered care for OPLWH.
