Vollständiger Abstract
Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
Formulation-led, non-pharmacological support can be beneficial for people living with dementia who experience distressed behaviours within care home settings. As recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidance (NICE, 2018), the Distressed Behaviours Pathway offers a holistic understanding of a person’s distress as well as support with non-pharmacological interventions. The pathway contains various stages wherein the intervention ‘intensity’ is increased as needed. There are many challenges to this approach, but we have been able to implement the pathway with care home staff to help people living with dementia.
