Vollständiger Abstract
Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
This article describes a five-year strategy aiming to encourage the use of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) interventions within a local Older People’s Mental Health (OPMH) service. After outlining the rationale for adopting PBS interventions when supporting people with dementia displaying behaviours that challenge, the paper describes the approach taken to encourage OPMH staff to embrace psychosocial approaches within their clinical practice. This included engaging senior clinicians and developing a network of PBS Champions alongside the successful implementation of PBS training and dedicated PBS consultation spaces within each locality. The article concludes by reflecting on the achievements and challenges faced in attempting to promote PBS approaches in an NHS context.
