Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

For individuals living with dementia, behaviours that challenge are frequently conceptualised as expressions of distress and unmet need. In line with best practice guidelines, non-pharmacological interventions are recommended in their management. Effective implementation of such interventions requires staff to have a comprehensive understanding of dementia, the nature of unmet needs, and the key factors contributing to distress. This article describes the evaluation of a successful staff training initiative using CLEAR Dementia Care. Delivered through a multidisciplinary, psychology-led service, the programme aims to enhance staff knowledge, skills, and confidence in responding to behaviours that challenge using non-pharmacological approaches. The development of an associated outcomes pathway further demonstrates the effectiveness and practical value of this approach in supporting high-quality, person-centred care.
