Vollständiger Abstract
Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
This study aims to examine in depth the meaning of moral warnings conveyed to the bride in the Wotik Wawi Waten rite in the Kloangpopot indigenous people. This rite is an important part of the traditional marriage series that is full of cultural values and life norms that have been passed down from generation to generation. The approach used in this study is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders and cultural actors, and documentation of the practice of the rite. The results of the study show that there are six main values contained in the message, namely the recognition of origin and family ties; integration in the husband's family; self-control and social ethics; loyalty and togetherness; expectations of fertility and continuity of generations as well as simplicity and value orientation. These values are conveyed through symbolic and meaningful indigenous languages, so that they not only function as advice, but also as a means of cultural transmission and the formation of identity and the role of women in the Kloangpopot community. Thus, this rite has a strategic role in maintaining the sustainability of cultural values while strengthening the social structure of indigenous peoples
