Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
The aim of this study is to evaluate operational effectiveness of waste water treatment facility (WWTF) of a petro - chemical plant in Port Harcourt. In this study, the analysis is done in order to estimate waste water treatment facility operational effectiveness and reliability using operational and experimental data from the petro chemical plant. The volumetric efficiency, energy efficiency, sludge production rate, performance indices and removal efficiency of BOD, COD, TSS and TDS is gotten using effective and reliability model. Thus, the data regarding the WWTF operated in Eleme petro chemical plant was collected from the works/maintenance department in (6) months period, before they will be further analyzed. Based on the explanatory results the operational effectiveness and reliability of the WWTF are determined. The research showed that the volumetric efficiency of the WWTF falls between 20%-59%, also, the energy consumption falls between 0.48kwh/m3-0.71kwh/m3, the energy consumption BOD5 removal falls between 2.9 kwh /kg -13.1kwh/kg, the highest sludge production is at the sixth month (F) which is 1.83kg/m3. Also, the removal efficiency of BOD for the 6 months is above 70%, for COD is between 50%-74%, for TSS is above 90% and for TDS is between 43% - 72%. This research work recommends Turn around maintenance (TAM) should be carried out in the waste water treatment facility to ensure the equipment is not damage.
