Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

This study examined the effect of insurgency on food production in selected states in Nigeria using insurgency, population displacement, farm inputs, farmland loss, and government intervention as explanatory variables. An ex post facto research design was adopted, and data were analyzed using the Binary Logistic Regression technique. The findings revealed that insurgency had a statistically significant effect on food production, while population displacement, farm inputs, farmland loss, and government intervention did not have significant effects. The overall model was statistically significant and provided a good fit to the data. The study concluded that insurgency is a key determinant of food production in the study area. It therefore recommends strengthening security in agricultural communities, improving the effectiveness of government intervention programmes, enhancing access to farm inputs, and supporting displaced farmers to promote sustainable food production and food security.
