Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
This study examines the effect of work motivation and training (diklat) on employee productivity at the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil) of Bireuen Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative, causal research design was used, drawing on a saturated sample of all 41 employees of the office. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire covering work motivation, training, and employee productivity, and were analysed using multiple linear regression in SPSS. The instrument satisfied conventional validity (Pearson correlation above the critical r-table value of 0.308) and reliability (Cronbach's alpha above 0.60) thresholds for all three constructs, and the classical assumption tests indicated normally distributed residuals, the absence of multicollinearity (tolerance = 0.964; VIF = 1.038 for both predictors), and homoscedasticity. Partial (t-test) results show that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee productivity (B = 0.334, t = 3.872, p = 0.000), and that training also has a positive and significant effect (B = 0.234, t = 2.620, p = 0.013). The simultaneous test (F-test) confirms that work motivation and training jointly and significantly affect employee productivity (F = 13.343, p = 0.000), with an R of 0.642 and an R² of 0.413, indicating that the two predictors jointly explain 41.3% of the variance in employee productivity, while the remaining 58.7% is explained by factors outside the model, such as work experience, work discipline, the work environment, and supporting facilities. The findings reinforce the view that motivation and continuous, needs-based training are complementary levers that public-sector managers can use to raise front-line service productivity.
