Islamic boarding schoool is the oldest Islamic educational institution in Indonesia and plays a strategic role in shaping students’ character. In the digital era, islamic boarding schoool face new challenges related to the rapid development of information technology, social media, and global culture that potentially affect students’ moral values. This study aims to analyze the role of islamic boarding schoool in shaping students’ character in the digital era and to examine the strategies implemented to respond to digital challenges. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research by analyzing classical and contemporary books as well as scientific journal articles. Data were analyzed using descriptive-analytical techniques with pedagogical and sociological perspectives. The findings indicate that the islamic boarding schoool continue to play a central role in character building through the internalization of Islamic values, role modeling of teachers, habituation of religious practices, and strengthening islamic boarding schoool culture. In the digital era, islamic boarding schoool also function as agents of digital literacy by instilling ethical media use, critical thinking, and social responsibility. This study concludes that integrating islamic boarding schoool values with the wise use of digital technology is key to effective character education for students in the digital age.
