Mental exhaustion among public health professionals represents a significant challenge for healthcare systems, affecting workers' quality of life, organizational performance, and the sustainability of health services. The increasing complexity of healthcare demands, combined with occupational pressures, emotional challenges, and organizational limitations, highlights the need for institutional strategies focused on prevention and mitigation of psychological suffering. This academic essay discusses approaches for promoting occupational health and workplace well-being among public health professionals, emphasizing the responsibility of healthcare organizations in creating healthier work environments. The discussion analyzes theoretical perspectives on occupational mental health, examines institutional interventions aimed at preventing burnout and exhaustion, and explores strategies related to leadership, organizational culture, worker support, and health governance. The essay argues that protecting healthcare professionals requires systemic institutional actions that integrate prevention policies, supportive management practices, psychosocial interventions, and sustainable workplace models capable of strengthening workforce resilience and improving public health system performance.
