Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

Mental exhaustion among healthcare professionals has become a major public health concern due to its consequences for workers' well-being, quality of care, and health system sustainability. Professionals working in public health services are frequently exposed to complex occupational conditions, including excessive workload, emotional demands, organizational limitations, resource constraints, and continuous exposure to human suffering. This academic essay discusses the occupational factors associated with mental exhaustion among public health professionals, emphasizing the relationship between work environments, psychosocial risks, and professional health. The discussion explores theoretical perspectives on occupational stress, analyzes organizational and institutional determinants influencing psychological exhaustion, and examines strategies to promote healthier work environments. The essay argues that addressing mental exhaustion requires systemic interventions involving workplace organization, leadership practices, professional support, occupational health policies, and recognition of healthcare workers as essential components of resilient public health systems.
