Vollständiger Abstract
Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
The organization of healthcare systems requires effective management strategies capable of integrating services, coordinating different levels of care, and ensuring continuity throughout users' healthcare trajectories. In Brazil, the development of Healthcare Networks within the Unified Health System (SUS) represents an important strategy for overcoming fragmented models of care and strengthening comprehensive healthcare delivery. These networks seek to articulate Primary Health Care, specialized services, hospitals, and other healthcare resources through coordinated processes focused on population needs. Care coordination has become a central element for improving healthcare quality, particularly in contexts marked by increasing chronic conditions, demographic ageing, and complex healthcare demands. However, implementing coordinated care models within SUS involves significant challenges related to regional inequalities, service fragmentation, management capacity, communication between healthcare levels, and availability of resources. This academic essay analyzes the relationship between health management, Healthcare Networks, and care coordination in the Brazilian healthcare context. The discussion explores organizational advances, managerial challenges, and perspectives for strengthening integrated healthcare models capable of promoting continuity, accessibility, and comprehensive care. The manuscript argues that effective coordination requires not only structural organization of services but also governance mechanisms, qualified professionals, information integration, and commitment to the principles of universality and equity.
