Assessing the level of formation of speech competence in the training of deaf educators based on specific, measurable indicators is a pressing scientific and practical issue. Speech competence characterizes the future deaf educator's mastery of speech at an exemplary level, as well as their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the formation, development, and correction of speech in children with hearing impairments. Today, there is a growing need to develop a system of criteria and indicators for assessing the professional knowledge and skills of a teacher. Therefore, the scientific substantiation of the structure of speech competence and the set of indicators that evaluate it is relevant for today's research.
