Objective: To analyze the role of Occupational Therapy in the development of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), identifying the main interventions used and their impacts on autonomy, functional independence, and occupational participation. Method: This is an integrative literature review with a qualitative and descriptive approach, conducted through scientific articles published between 2020 and 2026, selected from the SciELO, LILACS, PubMed, and PEDro databases. Descriptors related to Occupational Therapy, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Activities of Daily Living were used, considering previously defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The analyzed studies demonstrated that Occupational Therapy significantly favors ADL performance in children with ASD, especially in feeding, hygiene, dressing, toileting, and routine organization. Interventions based on sensory integration, skills training, environmental adaptation, the use of visual supports, family guidance, and occupation-centered practices showed positive outcomes in functional independence and social participation. Conclusion: Occupational Therapy plays an essential role in promoting autonomy and functionality in children with ASD, contributing to the development of ADLs and improving the quality of life of both the child and their family. Expanding research with robust methodological designs will further strengthen scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of occupational therapy interventions.
