Vollständiger Abstract
Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
Pressure injuries (PIs) constitute a significant public health problem, particularly among hospitalized individuals, the elderly, and people with reduced mobility. Given the complexity of the healing process and the challenges associated with treating these injuries, various therapeutic strategies have been developed and incorporated into clinical practice. Among these, the use of low-intensity laser also known as low-power laser stands out as an adjunct in the tissue repair process. This study is a literature review aimed at describing the benefits of using low-intensity laser for pressure injuries. Results: The literature analysis demonstrated that the application of laser therapy to wounds significantly promotes the healing process, contributing to faster and more efficient tissue recovery. Conclusion: Low-level laser therapy represents an effective complementary resource in the management of pressure injuries, standing out as a promising technology for clinical practice; the expansion of clinical studies and research is essential to strengthen application protocols and contribute to the consolidation of this therapy within healthcare and nursing practice.
