Envelhecimento facial associado ao uso da tirzepatida: alterações estéticas e estratégias de manejo na harmonização orofacial – revisão integrativa da literatura.

Introduction: Tirzepatide represents an important therapeutic advance in the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus, promoting significant weight loss. However, this weight reduction can cause changes in facial aesthetics, popularly known as Ozempic face, characterized by volume loss, skin laxity, and accentuation of facial wrinkles, making the role of Orofacial Harmonization (OF) relevant in managing these changes. Objective: To analyze, through an integrative literature review, the main facial aesthetic changes associated with the use of tirzepatide and the therapeutic strategies employed in Orofacial Harmonization for their management. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review, conducted through searches in the PubMed, Scopus, SciELO, and Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases, using descriptors related to tirzepatide, obesity, facial aging, and Orofacial Harmonization. Results: Studies have shown that the facial changes observed in tirzepatide users are mainly due to the accelerated loss of facial adipose compartments, resulting in reduced facial volume, sagging, deepening of wrinkles, and greater prominence of bone structures. The main management strategies include the use of hyaluronic acid-based fillers, collagen biostimulators, and tissue stimulation technologies, providing improved facial harmony and patient satisfaction. Conclusion: It is concluded that Orofacial Harmonization plays a relevant role in the aesthetic rehabilitation of patients undergoing treatment with tirzepatide. However, specific scientific evidence on the subject is still scarce, reinforcing the need for new studies to support safe and effective clinical protocols.
