Positive Effects of Solution-Focused Short-Term Therapy Combined with Routine Nursing Care on the Psychological State and Quality of Life of Patients with Geriatric Syndromes

Patients with geriatric syndromes often show limited improvement in psychological state and quality of life after routine care alone. This study applies a structured solution-focused brief therapy intervention combined with routine nursing care, guiding patients to focus on personal strengths and achievable goals through six standardized sessions. The intervention is implemented by uniformly trained nursing staff according to an operating manual, ensuring procedural consistency and scalability. At the 4-week follow-up assessment, the GDS-15 scores of patients with geriatric syndromes stabilize at approximately 4.5, and the WHOQOL-BREF psychological domain score reaches 68. These results indicate that the combined intervention improves psychological status and quality of life without changing the routine nursing framework. By strengthening patient self-efficacy, goal construction, and functional participation, the intervention provides a replicable nursing pathway for geriatric syndrome management and offers practical evidence for structured psychosocial support in elderly care settings.
