Abstract Copy number variation (CNV) is defined as a > 1-kb-long DNA fragment copy number increase or decrease, with fetal CNV judgment and genetic counseling posing difficulties. We tested and retrospectively analyzed fetuses using chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA), 169 with abnormal CNV being completely verified and followed up for pregnancy and postnatal outcomes. ABSTRACT Oropharyngeal leech infestation is rare. A 12‐year‐old Afghan girl developed recurrent epistaxis, dysphagia, throat irritation, and cough after drinking untreated stream water. Examination revealed an 8‐cm leech attached to the posterior pharynx. Forceps removal immediately resolved symptoms. Leech infestation should be considered following freshwater exposure in endemic rural settings worldwide.
