Many youth with anxiety benefit from sertraline (SSRIs) or cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), but response trajectories vary. So, researchers wanted to identify early markers of treatment response to either or both. Sequencing treatment strategies and identifying early nonresponse may improve outcomes. Instead of taking a “wait‐and‐see” approach as to what treatment works, there are ways to predict, according to the first randomized controlled trial (RCT) looking at how to predict response.
